SOUTHERN HEALTH STRATEGIC
PLAN SUMMARY 2004-2007
Over the past twelve months or so, as a result of hard work,
questioning what we do and how we do it, and innovative
thinking, we have begun to better understand, shape and
recognise the potential of Southern Health.
Part of this process has been the development of a new
Strategic Plan. As a result, we have developed a new Vision
for Southern Health "Better Health for Our Community". The
great challenge for all of us is to deliver this Vision to our
fullest potential, both as individuals and as an organisation.
Our Plan builds on the pioneering work of many
individuals,
hospitals and programs that have already contributed to
making Southern Health one of Australia’s great health
services. This means we can be bold in our vision, and
confident in our ability to achieve our goals.
Southern Health values the diverse community it serves;
the
workforce it employs and the many different partners it works
with to provide exceptional health services.
Our new Values of integrity, compassion, accountability,
respect and excellence show the way we wish to relate
to our patients and clients, and how we relate to each other.
We now have a new level of enthusiasm within Southern
Health, and an opportunity to build on our heritage, by using
our existing talents and resources, which are considerable,
and new ones we will acquire as we put the plan into action.
On behalf of the Board and Management, we thank everyone
who has contributed to the development of Southern Health’s
2004 - 2007 Strategic Plan.
