Sterilising Services Unit (SSU):   Dandenong Hospital

Operating 24 hours 7 days a week the SSU provides sterilising services for operating theatres as well as all wards and departments within Dandenong Hospital. The service is overseen by an experienced Nurse Unit Manager and a team of 20 Instrument Technicians, and processes between 13,000 – 15,000 items per month.
SSU is at present undergoing substantial renovations.  All the renovations will be on accordance with the Australian Standards. SSU will be able to improve our service to clients.  

 

Sterilising Services Unit (SSU):   Casey Hospital

Sterilising Services Unit adjoins the Casey Operating Theatres.  We provide sterilising services to the following departments – Theatre, Day Surgery, Emergency, Maternity, Diagnostic Imaging, Multi Disciplinary Clinic, Podiatry and the Wards.   The unit has been opened since October 2004.  We have two Atherton Sterilisers for the processing of the bulk of instrumentation, along with both a Sterrad and Sterris Unit.  The layout of this unit allows a close working relationship with Theatre, which promotes a strong team approach to providing a high standard of patient care.
